Essex Humanists

About

Their objective is to promote humanism - life based on humanity and reason. Decisions based, not on any dogma or sacred text, but on the available evidence and each person's assessment of the outcomes of their actions. Belief in individual rights and freedoms, but also that individual responsibility, social cooperation and mutual respect are just as important. They campaign for equality for the non-religious, especially in education. They are affiliated to the British Humanist Association, whose website carries a great deal of information on Humanism, its ideals, aspirations, and national campaigns and activities: http://www.humanism.org.uk
